Captain James Kook – Patron Saint of crap surfers everywhere

Captain Kook surf board art

For those new to surfing lingo, I offer a handy definition below so that you can chortle along with the rest of us:

kook – 1. a surfing beginner 2. someone who gets in the way or into trouble because of ignorance or inexperience 3. someone who pretends to be something they’re not. 4. a completely awkward or bad surfer (highly derogatory)

I hereby present Captain Kook, the patron saint of crap surfers. With his enormous fluro-pink soft-board and gnarly board shorts he stands nobly gazing out to sea in search of… he knows not what. He couldn’t spot a wave if it bodily picked him up and dumped on his head, which of course it will do.

So folks, it’s time to take the power back! Wear your crap-ness on your sleeve or your board even, and never be afraid to proclaim: “I came, I saw, I kooked out on that mega wave.”
