Episode 2 – Using spraypaint and markers for surfboards

My newest piece of YouTube madness is here!

In this episode, I’m getting groovy with spray paint and paint markers to custom paint a surfboard with an old-school tattoo inspired skull and moray eel.

In the video I’m using Molotow Belton Premium Aerosols and ONE4ALL paint markers and inks, the surfboard was supplied by Star Surf and Skate, with location is The Apple, in Bridgetown, Western Australia, sponsored by The Butcher Shop.

Filming and editing by Matt Fieldes Photography. http://www.mattfieldesphotography.com/

Big thank you to our sponsors:

Teeth, teratomas and eyes – oh my!

Organs painted on a longboard skate deck

Behold! Dr Fieldey’s newest mad masterpiece: Organ Truckin‘. It’s the grossest thing I have painted on a skate deck yet, and I’m in love with it… so pretty! Organ Truckin’ is painted onto a Canada moose hardwood fintail longboard deck.

If you don’t know what a teratoma is, it’s Greek for  “monstrous tumour” which says it all really. They are fascinatingly hideous (mostly benign) tumours that contain a freakish assortment cells like skin, hair, bone, teeth, brain tissue, eyes and even possibly your parasitic twin – GASP! Also, they are quite often happily mutating away in unsuspecting victims, so you could have a sweet little of bundle of teeth, hair, pus and tiny legs living in you *right now*… Sleep tight!

Don’t drink and drown surfboard art

Wowza! It’s been a stinking hot last couple of days and I’ve been painting frantically trying to get this surfboard finished before I head off on holiday to Sri Lanka tomorrow… and here it is!

It’s for the Royal Life Saving Society of WA’s “Don’t drink and drown” appeal, and I reckon it has the best and most intense skull I’ve painted to date!
